About The Authors

Howard Wong, the Joe Shuster Award for Outstanding Canadian Comic Book Writer nominated author and creative development specialist works in animation, comic books, high-end collectible toys, video games, intellectual property and creative content development. He has world-built, story developed and authored existing and developing intellectual properties for creative industry leaders including Bandai, Bungie, Marvel Comics, and Threezero. He has authored titles and contributed to collected works that include, After the Cape Vol I and II (Image Comics), Iron Man: Hong Kong Heroes #1 (Marvel Comics), FullMetal Ghost #1 (Bandai and Threezero), based on Kunio Okawara’s (Mecha designer of Gundam) property where he was the story developer, New Frontiers: The Many Worlds of George Takei (The New Press), Toronto Comics Vol. 3, (Toronto Comics Anthology), True Patriot Vol I and II (Chapterhouse Comics). Anthologies he has written stories for have been nominated for the Joe Shuster Award's Gene Day Award, Comic Book Buyer's Guide Fan Award for Favourite Graphic Novel, and the Ghastly Award for Favourite Horror Anthology. He has multiple projects in development and has aspirations to develop an animated series. He is from and based in Toronto, Canada where he lives with his wife, kids and two dogs.

Josh Stafford is the writer of Zomkeys, which has three self contained issues published by Winter Star Comics, and has had work featured in a number of comic book anthologies. Beware The Children (a Damned, Cursed Children precursor also co-written with Howard Wong) was published in the Joe Shuster Awards nominated Hogtown Horror, I Heart 11-QPG-1B9 in the digital series Strange Romance, and Red Giant in Flip, Volume 2. He also has an animation writing credit on the DC Super Hero Girls episode #FlashForwardFlashBack (available to watch on YouTube).

Josh is a Canterbury High School of the Performing Arts, and Vancouver Film School graduate. A short script that he wrote at film school was included in the book, The Tyranny of Story. He wrote and directed a number of short films, including 07-07-13, which screened at the San Diego Comic-Con. He also co-produced / co-directed the roller derby documentary Four Wheeled Furies that appeared on CBC.

He is a proud co-owner and geek-in-chief of the Mayfair Theatre in Ottawa, a classic (and haunted) single-screen independent cinema that opened in 1932. And, he co-hosts the popular Mayfair Theatre Podcast weekly, which passed 300 episodes at the end of 2020. He is really good at Dig Dug, but just hasn’t gotten around to officially recording a high score to get onto a top twenty high score record holders list. A true geek life highlight was being killed by Jango Fett in a Star Wars comic, a thrilling accomplishment even though that story is not canon anymore.
