About The Author

Margery Winifred Williams was born in London in 1881. During her lifetime she lived in England, America and Italy and wrote numerous books for adults and children. Her most famous book, The Velveteen Rabbit or How Toys Become Real, was published in1922. William Nicholson (1872-1949) was a British artist, illustrator and children's author. He was awarded gold medal in the Art competitions at the 1928 Summer Olympics and was knighted in 1936. He was the original illustrator for many celebrated works, including An Almanac of Twelve Sports by Rudyard Kipling and The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams.
