About The Book

Stay a full night in The Bain House and live in infamy.

No one has ever made it through the night at the supposedly haunted Bain House, the former residence of renowned psychic Shelia Bain. It beckons Bellweather High seniors looking for frightfully fun prom night antics. Eight years ago, a group of Bellweather High seniors attempted the sleepover and a girl ended up dead. But that doesn’t scare April Newsome. What high school experience would be complete without living out lusty teenage fantasies in a haunted house? April has recruited a brave group of friends including her best friend, Kimmie, who is unsure about the adventure. Nightmares and visions have plagued her for weeks.

When a game with a Ouija board goes from silly to spooky, the evening starts to go off the rails. Have they conjured Shelia’s angry spirit? What they do know is that they are trapped, and the true mysteries of The Bain house come wickedly alive. Unknown psychic abilities need to be unlocked in the struggle for survival as a night of teenage fun turns into a gruesome and frenzied fight for their lives.

As secrets come to the surface friendships will be tested… in blood. Out of Body is Nightmare on Elm Street meets Cruel Summer in this witchy and arousing fresh take on a classic genre. Read if you dare.

Excerpt

Kimmie clung to the banister, nearly slipping as she struggled to pull herself forward through the icy water that kept trying to suck her under.
It took everything she had to plant her numb foot on the next step.
She glanced back at the dark whirlpool where there had once been stairs and whimpered. She’d be sucked down the staircase, into the flooded ground floor if she let go. And there she would drown.
This isn’t real. This isn’t real. This isn’t real.
But no matter how many times she told herself that, the water kept rising. Even if she made it to the attic, she still might die. The second floor would be underwater soon, and if she couldn’t find a way to break through the roof …
A wall of water slammed into her from behind, tearing her free of the banister and slamming her hard against the wall, knocking the air from her lungs before yanking her down.
Don’t breathe.
She flailed against the water that tumbled her over and over in the darkness. Her hand hit something, but the water snatched it away before she could grab it before.
Phosphorescent dots swam in her vision. Her lungs burned for air.
Don’t breathe.
The water was slower here, but Kimmie’s arms didn’t want to move. And which way should she go anyway? She’d never make it back up, and there was no way out down here.
Don’t breathe.

About The Author

Quinn Ellis resides in a (probably) haunted house in Massachusetts with a spoiled rescue dog that likes barking at nothing. When not spinning sordid stories of suspense, Quinn enjoys oil painting (poorly), trying local beers, and, of course, watching classic horror flicks with the lights off.
