About The Book

From celebrated picture book author Helen Docherty and the bestselling illustrator of the Questioneers series, David Roberts, comes a vitally important picture book encouraging empathy by showing we’re more similar than different.

Somewhere in this world, there is someone just like you, who finds the same things funny and who laughs the way you do. If they needed you, would you help them? This moving call to action reminds kids through lyrical, rhyming text and stunning illustrations that people share more similarities than differences and that kindness is doable and actionable, even when you’re small.

Why We Love It

“I’m moved every time I read this book. The message and text are straightforward but delivered so affectively, that I always finish my read with a little tear in my eye. Helen Docherty’s simple rhyme builds a soothing cadence, while David Roberts’s joyous illustrations are equal parts delightful and poignant. This one will speak to kids using its simple examples and belongs in the kindness canon of picture books along with All Are Welcome, Be Kind, and The Big Umbrella.”
