Bob Dylan Art Book and Unabridged Audiobook Coming This Fall
New York, NY, June 24, 2025—Simon & Schuster announced today that it is publishing POINT BLANK (QUICK STUDIES) by Bob Dylan. This is the first collection of Dylan’s artwork published by a trade publisher in over a decade, and the first book by the Nobel Prize winner since his 2022 New York Times bestseller The Philosophy of Modern Song.
The collection features roughly one-hundred works created between 2021 and 2022. They vary between portraits, still lifes, and landscapes: roller-skating lovers, a suit of armor, a suspension bridge, a karaoke singer, a roll of Scotch tape, a Parisian canal, a man with a crooked smile.
“This book showcases Bob Dylan’s mastery of telling stories, creating moods and provoking feelings,” said Simon & Schuster Vice President and Publisher, Sean Manning. “The images are deeply evocative, at once innocent and world-weary, joyous and forlorn, humorous and sensual, enigmatic and familiar. Dylan’s ability to find beauty and mystery in the seemingly mundane is one of his great gifts—and the gift he’s continually given to the public over the years, including now with POINT BLANK.”
Dylan has created visual art since the 1960s yet didn’t display it until 2007. Currently he has an exhibit, also titled Point Blank, at Halcyon Gallery in London, running through July 6. The basis of those pieces are the black-and-white drawings that will be featured in this oversized book.
Accompanying the artwork are short prose vignettes written by Eddie Gorodetsky, Jackie Hamilton, and Lucy Sante. The book publishes on November 18, 2025.
Also on November 18, Simon & Schuster Audio will release the newly recorded, unabridged version of Chronicles: Volume 1, narrated by two-time Academy Award-winning actor Sean Penn. Only an abridged audio edition of the book has been available since 2004.
Bob Dylan has released thirty-nine studio albums, which collectively have sold over 125 million copies around the world. He won the 2016 Nobel Prize in Literature and has been awarded the French Legion of Honor, a Pulitzer Prize Special Citation, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the country’s highest civilian honor. His memoir, Chronicles: Volume One, spent a year on the New York Times bestseller list.
