  • As the publisher of many millions of copies of books annually, Simon & Schuster is committed to the responsible use of the Earth’s precious and finite resources and engaging in sustainable business practices. These take the form of sourcing from certified forestry practitioners to activities in our business operations that promote more efficient use of energy and reduce waste in our various facilities.
  • Our warehouse in Riverside, New Jersey operates with an extensive state-of-the-art solar array of 5256 panels/2 MW nominal power, creating 2,192 MWh clean, renewable electricity generated/year Carbon footprint reduction is estimated at 942 metric tons/year (equivalent to that of 1,100 acres of forest).
  • All Simon & Schuster paper purchases are either FSC or SFI Certified. In 2022, 36% percent of our paper purchases were FSC Certified and 64% of our purchases were SFI Certified.
  • Shipping cartons are manufactured with a high percentage of recycled material, and dunnage is from 100% recycled material.
  • Simon & Schuster is a sponsor of Trees for the Future, who work with farming families across Sub-Saharan Africa so they can transform their degraded land into flourishing Forest Gardens. Forest Gardens provide farming families with financial stability and food security, promote biodiversity and offer climate resilience. Since 2022, Simon & Schuster contributions have funded the planting of 125,000 trees.
