THEO OF GOLDEN by Allen Levi – One Million Copies Sold

NEW YORK, NY, March 12, 2026–Atria Books announced today that its edition of #1 New York Times bestselling novel THEO OF GOLDEN by Allen Levi has sold over one million copies in all formats in the US.

Self-published in 2023, THEO OF GOLDEN sold just over 175,000 copies before Atria took over the publication in October 2025. Since then, the novel has become a phenomenon, first hitting the New York Times bestseller list in November 2025 and rising to #1 last month. Featured in the Washington Post and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, THEO OF GOLDEN was the February 2026 Katie Couric Book Club pick as well as the March 2026 Jen Hatmaker Book Club pick.

“It has been a joy and a privilege to bring Allen Levi’s singular novel to an ever-growing audience, and Atria is proud to publish a book that has captured the hearts of so many readers. One million copies in and we are still at the beginning of Theo’s story,” said Libby McGuire, EVP, Publisher, Atria Books and Director of Adult US Content Coordination, Simon & Schuster.

A story of giving and receiving, of seeing and being seen, THEO OF GOLDEN is an unforgettable novel about the power of generosity, the importance of wonder to a purposeful life, and the invisible threads of kindness that bind us to one another.
