Cecil R. Cross II is the author of music executive Kenny Burns's memoir The Dream Is Real and the fictional HBCU series First Semester and Next Semester. His writing has appeared in Complex, Vibe, SLAM, and The Cut, among other publications. Cross has led creative teams at Amazon and some of the world's most recognized companies, and is the founder and lead content strategist of Crescendo Creative, a full-service marketing agency.
