Erik van Bemmel

Erik van Bemmel (1985) was born in Kenya, a stone's throw from the bird-rich Kakamega Forest, to which he lost his heart. He soon left for the Netherlands, where his love of nature remained a recurring theme in his life. It was instilled in him from an early age: he went on birdwatching trips, spent summer vacations in rugged mountain landscapes, and undertook long hiking trips across the Netherlands. A few years ago, he traveled around the world in an old jeep: he climbed mountains of 5,000 meters, snorkeled with giant rays, and saw a tiger walking by just a few meters away. His illustrations contribute to the mission he has in mind: he wants to show how beautiful nature is and that there is an incredible amount to discover. Because if you look closely, you will see that nature is all around us.
