About The Author

Heather Cairns was an unlikely hire when she was recruited by Google’s founders to implement and run HR practices in 1998, but she ultimately became one of the original champions of what is now a global search giant. She holds a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art (1988), a certificate in HR from UC Berkeley (1999), and a Post Baccalaureate Certificate from SMFA in Boston (2008). The founder of Pleasant Steet LLC, which builds much-needed senior housing, Heather lives in the same historic seaside town north of Boston where she grew up.
