About The Author

J.M. Rogers is honorary curator of the Khalili Collection of Islamic Art. He was previously Nasser D. Khalili Professor of Islamic Art and Archaeology at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and formerly deputy keeper in the department of Oriental Antiquities in the British Museum. His publications include Islamic Art and Design 1500–1700 and (with Rachel Ward) Süleyman the Magnificent.
