About The Author

Kelly Thompson has worked in nonfiction publishing for over 25 years as an editor, commissioning editor, and writer, helping to shape hundreds of books from early idea through to publication. At the heart of her work is a commitment to creating books that inform, enrich and transform people's lives, and a deep belief in the power of words to help us hold and express what really matters. My Last Wishes reflects this approach, offering a practical and compassionate way to record both the essential details of a life, and the memories and relationships that shape it. Alongside her own writing, Kelly now works as a book doula and editorial consultant (bookdoula.co.uk), helping people to find their voice and develop their ideas into meaningful, well-formed books. She has mentored on university programmes, spoken at book festivals, and hosted story-sharing events that explore memory, connection, and the resilience of the human spirit. She also runs retreats and delivers workshops on themes such as Writing to Remember, including for platforms such as the Good Grief Festival. She lives in Hastings, UK, where she takes great joy in the town's strong sense of community and creativity, and feels lucky to be so close to the restorative, expansive nature of the sea.
